Trying to Make Twins, 1994
This work was part of an exhibition that took place in the old RCA building on Rue Lenoir in Montreal, Quebec circa 1994. The exhibition was called Polishing Complex. The other artists involved were Sym Corrigan and Patrick Meagher. The space that we used for the exhibition was a run down and beaten up old office space, a large room with smaller rooms off the sides. There were two rooms off the large space that were very similar one to the other. I spent two weeks copying every mark, hole, scratch, dent and any other identifying characteristics from one room to the other. It was a subtle piece but when I saw someone moving back and forth between the rooms - tracing the path that I had walked hundreds of times, I knew they had caught on to something.
